So every year there is this festival a couple of blocks from my house on Grand Avenue and it's called Grand Old Day and it's just during the day and there are bands and food and lots of really drunk people cooking in the sun. I went for an hour with my mom and dad and Uncle Ansel and Auntie Kathryn and I got to smell some of the best smells in the whole world. They gave me a deep fried cheese curd - which is pretty much my favorite - and I got to lick an ice chunk and I tried to eat lots of stuff off the ground which made my mom and dad pull me a lot - and I tried to eat some vomit, but my mom said NOOOOO! A bunch of people came up to me and said I am super cute and that they have never seen a brown Boston terrier before which is pretty awesome. Unfortunately, my stupid rents didn't bring the camera, so the only pics we have are cell phone pics that my uncle took and he hasn't emailed them yet so I will call him and add them later.
So my good friend Sophie LaBrador left me a comment asking if we are ok after the big storms that tore through the state yesterday, and the answer is yes! Fortunately, it's really rare for a tornado to hit the city because of the heat bubble the city creates - like a giant tornado forcefield. Some of the towns a few miles north of us got baseball sized hail and big, scary tornadoes. We got a little sprinkling of rain and some wind, and it wasn't scary at all. I was just watching the news about all the destruction that storm caused and I feel really, really bad for those people, especially for the family of the baby who died. A bunch of people are still unaccounted for, but a lot of people drove out of town for the weekend. What really makes my mom mad is a lot of those houses were fairly new McMansions built by crappy developers who use the cheapest material possible and they blow apart like movie sets. And it doesn't help that they are built on filled in swamp land either ...
Thanks for caring so much Sophie, and my thoughts go out to all those poor people who have lost so much.
So, Saturday was my dad's graduation party and a bunch of his family drove here from Iowa - and it was awesome to see them - and tons of his friends showed up and there were a few little people with Dorito fingers and they dropped stuff and it was the best! Someone didn't eat all their cake (what is wrong with people?), so my mom let me have that and then she also gave me half a bratwurst which was pretty much the best ever! The party was at my Uncle Ansel's and Aunt Kathryn's house which is one of my favorite places in the whole world , and we stayed up really late and for some reason we had to sleep on their futon instead of driving home. I woke up really early because I had to poo and I was getting hungry and my mom was kind of cranky about it. Whatever.
This is a picture of my dad right after he graduated - doesn't he look smarter? (I graduated like 2 years ago, but that's ok, Dad, I'm still proud of you.)
Didn't I look smart at my graduation?
And this is a picture of my Uncle Ansel giving me a little beer which is pretty much my favorite.
And this is my Auntie Kathryn kissing and strangling me and she was acting really goofy that night for some reason.
So I haven't been around much because my mom doesn't care about me anymore, well ... I guess there just hasn't been anything much going on to post about and my mom has spring fever so she hasn't been on the computer much lately so that's why I haven't been to your blogs either. My dad's graduation party is this Saturday and I get to go and eat a ton of BBQ food and meet a lot of people. And my dad's family is driving up from Iowa so I get to hang out with them too and there will be little kids who drop food which is pretty much the best part. And this is an old pic because my mom hasn't been taking pictures either, but this it is an illustration of what I will look like on Saturday when people are eating.
